The Texas Cosmetology Commissionregulated the cosmetology industry in Texas from 1971 to 2005. Records of thecommission are minutes of its meetings (1971-1997) and the meetings of itspredecessor agency, the Texas State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists(1964-1971), as well as a small quantity of commission correspondence, meetingnotices, and a news release, all dating 1964-1997. The commission was absorbed bythe Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in 2005, becoming the TexasCosmetology Advisory Board.
